There are six basic building blocks to every volunteer program that will determine its success.  A key component across all of the blocks is communication.  Recognize that volunteers should be on the same level as your associates and employees and receive similar communication and line of sight to the strategic plan. Programs should be built from the bottom of the pyramid up.
