A FEW OF OUR SAMPLE  PROJECTS

WORKSHOPS

During 2022, supported by the Blue River Community Foundation, and in conjunction with the Shelby County Chamber of Commerce, Effective Advancement Strategies developed a nonprofit, capacity-building workshop series to strengthen area organizations.  Topics included analyzing special events, volunteer recruitment, marketing, branding, fundraising, collaboration, crisis management planning and more.  While sharing practical experience and easily implemented best practices, attendees provided extremely positive reviews of the series.

CAPITAL CAMPAIGNS

Girls Inc. in Shelbyville, and a community theater group, Tree County Players, as well as others have engaged Effective Advancement Strategies to provide guidance and direction for their capital campaigns.  With a goal of raising $250,000, the TCP campaign raised over $304,000 for a new playhouse and improvements.  Million dollar plus campaigns, on which EAS has been engaged, typically exceed their goals by 10% to 25%.

COMMUNITY VISIONING

Leading organizations in the City of Greensburg saw the need for a more unified direction and engagement of residents.  The Chamber of Commerce, Community Foundation, Visit Decatur County, Main Street Greensburg and the Economic Development Corporation engaged Effective Advancement Strategies to lead a community visioning effort.  Community residents were engaged and over 3,000 pieces of input resulted from surveys, neighborhood networking meetings and generational meetings.  The City of Greensburg adopted the vision and the community was named a Stellar Finalist as a result of the efforts.

BOARD STRATEGIC INITIATIVES

Multiple organizations have engaged Effective Advancement Strategies to provide strategic direction for their board and programming.  Board Retreats were held to bring staff and board together in developing a vision for the future.  Working throughout the session participants honed in on priorities and eventually developed an advancement map to help guide their efforts.
